I'm not sure if this next bit is synaesthesia or if it's like this for everybody.

Basically: How do you see the days of the week and months of the year?

I'm and associative, so I see it in my head: it's like, a list(for the months) that goes on and is slightly tilted. And they-the month's- are like three demensional cubes. Then when I think of a month, January for example, I see ' January ' on the front of the cube, like I'm looking at it head on.

And another thing: the days of the week. It starts on monday and goes in a straight line through Saturday-with the same tilt and ' head-on ' thing; but the weird part is that...

Sunday just isn't there. O.O

It's just.............not. It doesn't fit before Monday or after Saturday. I know that Sunday exists, and that it should be either the day after Saturday or the day before Monday, but...

I dunno. It just doesn't...fit.

So, does anybody have ' missing ' days or months(years?)?
And how d'you see your days, months, and years?

Yes, I have missing weekends, too. Sunday isn't always on my timeline, and Saturday is almost never there. My week is pretty boring- square colored boxes going from left to right. Thursday is slightly thinner, and Friday is shorter.
My months of the year are... difficult to describe. I made an attempt , if that helps.

Wow, I never thought about it, but I group the months in three's, too!

SO, it goes as so:
1-January, February, March
2-April, May, June
3-July, August, September
4-October, November, December

AND, I always think of them as units, too..

I always thought that everyone was like this; then again, I thought that everyone alse could see patterns in music, feel and taste books, and color letters and numbers. -_-

Also, when I see the months at the tilt, the box/cubes are white and the letters are black. But head on, there's a space around it-a perimeter, if you will- that is the month's color. Then, there's a white box with the month's name inside.

If I grouped them, not by colour or anything, it would be:

January and December
February and March
April and May
June and July
August and September
October and November

January is a soft, blurry sort of blue . . . very light.
February is purple-ish.
March is a green, but not light or dark.
April is yellow.
May is a pretty, girly pink!
June is red.
July is a cross between blue and yellow.
August is burgundy.
September is brown-ish.
October seems orange.
November seems brown, orange, and yellowy.

Monday is hot pink.
Tuesday is either white or a very light biege/tan.
Wednesday is tiger orange.
Thursday is yellow.
Friday is lime green.
Saturday (prettiest) is an after-the-storm blue.
Sunday is gold.

lundi is blue.
mardi is red.
mecredi is purple.
jeudi is pale green.
vendredi is the prettiest, being olive green with light green stripes.
samedi is yellow.
dimanche is brown.

I tried to describe my months while I was attempting to show them on Presentations. As of yet, I don't really see anything for my weeks. I only recently realized I sometimes saw my year like this. (Associated so that it's in my head, not projected.)

Months

Groups:

January and February
March, April, May (March is sometimes by itself)
June, July, August (Sometimes August is by itself)
September and sometimes October
November and December

Colors & What it makes me think of:

January:: cranberry red, roan red, brown. makes me think (sort of) of holly berries
February:: Has a sort of ....... dark blue with a small hint of purple for it's overall feel.
March:: Dark pink at the beginning. Gives off a sort of sense of rain (because of the M. weird).
April:: Bouncy and playful feel, probably because of April Fool's Day. April is yellow, dark pink, and a faded red, but mostly the yellow and dark pink.
May:: Dark and light pink. Calm, peace, and happiness.
June:: Dull red and brown, yellow-orange. Makes me think of playing volleyball on the beach (with the cool colored inflatable beach balls!). June is peaceful and relaxed.
July:: Deeper red, blood-red, and orange-yellow. Not much of a feeling to it.....maybe just ..... Patriotic. Maybe because of the 4th of July.
August:: Yellow-orange. Makes me think of......hay, last days at the beach, etc. Overall, the feel is relaxed or sometimes tired and dragging.
September:: Green and hint of brown. Yellows are duller and B is blacker, but doesn't stick out much. September has a lack of fun to it and more of a working feel, with a bit of holiday. Probably because school is back in.
October:: White and light grey/black. Not ugly or boring colored, though. Has a bright and pure feel sometimes. Other times, it is sort of hollow, bland, or ghostly (not creepy ghostly, I just can't explain it. Not creepy, though).
November:: Warm browns and deep reds. Warm, peaceful, and inviting.
December:: Vivid oranges, deep greens, warm yellows, warm browns. Bright, cheerful, energetic. A positive energy to it.

(What I feel are) Their Personalities:

This part is still very 'new' and sometimes I think I'm just making them up because their 'personalities' seem to fit really well with the holidays/seasons they have. I sort of just....feel like they are this, rather than saying, 'Oh, January is definitely a loner', for example.

January :: Calm; a behind-the-scenes kind of worker; sometimes seems a bit sad
February :: Loving, but still sometimes a little sad, like Jan.
March:: Sometimes sad or slightly depressed. Other times calm and smiling slightly.
April :: Energetic and cheerful, like a child
May :: Motherly (the 'mother' if you will)
June :: Fatherly. I can sort of 'see' June having a pipe in his mouth and reading the paper. (lol)
July :: Fun-loving. Likes parties and many summer activities like hanging out on the beach; teenager.
August :: Laid-back
September :: Calm and Orderly; Teacher
October :: Shy, Quiet; go-with-the-flow
November :: Family-oriented
December :: Loves and is good at crafts; energetic, creative, helpful, likes to decorate and work on crafts.

((please tell me if this is syn or not))

What I See:

The year itself is like I'm looking at it in a completely white room that has no bottom or anything. Sort of like on t.v. shows where a person is in a dream that's just white and no one else is around.

The year is a bit 3-D, but more 2-D than anything. Most of January, maybe up to the N-A looks like it is coming out of a shadow in the top left corner of my vision. From the M/B in November and the 2nd E-R in December look like they are going into a shadow at the bottom right corner of my vision. I can see all the letters of the month through the shadow; it's sort of like....looking through fog, only darker, like a shadow. Where there aren't letters, the shadow is very dark black. When the letters start to appear, it becomes a dark gray in front of the letters and a darker gray behind the letters, and it slowly fades until the end of the month appears. Same thing for the end of the year, except it fades into the dark shadow.

March, April, and May are the easiest to see.

The months themselves are a bit overlapping. The end of Jan. is barely overlapped by Feb, for example. The months slope down and to the right at a very small incline. Once August hits, the months slope downward a little more.

Also, for some of the months, I can see a few ..... 'pictures' around them. For March, I see a thin patch of grass and a small flower or two (hardly noticeable) near the bottom of the C & H. For April, I can sort of 'sense' small red and blue confetti/streamers around the A and P, sometimes the I.

Lastly, I can see a set of double doors. When I look at them, they look like they are very far off in the distance, like there's a wall there, but you can't see where it would connect to the floor (if that makes any sense). The doors are a dark brown and sometimes I feel as though they are open, sometimes as though they were closed.

Days

Colors:

Monday :: Dark pink, dull dark brown (not very noticable, though). Very dreary.
Tuesday :: Light browns and fun, bouncy orange.
Wednesday :: Dark navy blue with a small hint of purple sometimes, a bit of yellow and faint light brown. Flat feel, but better than Monday
Thursday:: More browns than Tuesday and the orange is duller and a bit more orange-yellow.
Friday:: Dark navy blue with a bit more purple than Wed. Also, there is a bit of orange and pink at the end, plus the light grey-white of the Y.
Saturday:: Green, brown, yellow-orange, a hint of pink-orange.
Sunday :: Green and yellow-orange, and light brown.

lundi :: red and yellow-orange. I used to get it and mardi mixed up.
mardi :: dark and light pink with some brown
mercredi yellow, green, dark pink
jeudi :: light brown, yellow, yellow-orange
vendredi :: light grey with a very faint hint of green, yellow, light brown
samedi :: green, dark pink, yellow, orange-brown
dimanche :: orange-brown, dark pink

((SORRY FOR THE UBER LONG POST!!! :emb: :emb: ))

Hey Kaila!!!

My months are grouped as: (i never thought about this before either)

January, Februrary, March.
April, May.
June, July, August.
September.
October, November, December.

And it goes in a horizontal line from left to right, but it's slightly tilted downward, and the months are cubes. I can see it right now!

Janurary is Green and white,
Februrary is navy and pink,
March is green, red and brown,
April is red and orange with a rattley texture
May is red and green lines
June is green and pink and kinda soft and squirty..lol
July is green pink and blue
August is red, pink and yellow and it tastes like the color red
September is yellow and tastes like golden apples
October is green and black
December is greenish whitish orangish.

and all these have tastes cause they have colors, and since colors have tastes for me, all of them taste like the color. but i can't exactly explain how that tastes cause it's like explaining how apples taste. They just taste..like apples!

ahhhh here's my group!!! I've been reading all these color/number/alphabet posts and thought maybe nobody else here had the timeline/month/date thing.

It is so flippity cool to see others describe what I've always seen (albeit a bit differently) and to be able to read YOUR descriptions and know exactly what you are talking about! It's so much nicer than when I say to my husband "why ou asking me about something that's going to happen way "down on August" when we are still "standing up here in Jan!" and have him give me those straaannngggee looks!

I see the months like this:

Jan is in "about the 1.5 position on a clock (kinda inbetween 1 and 2 oclock, sort of.. although it wouldn't quite "fit" if I put it on a "real" clock. Then it goes around in a circle AND a square at the same time in a counter clockwise way. They are grouped as such:

Dec, Jan Feb,
March April May
June July Aug (although June can sometimes group with May or stand on it's own)
Sept, Oct, Nov, (although sometimes Sept. or Nov. can stand on their own).

When I think of where I am in the "now" I am always "standing on" the current month and can "see" all around me, where we've "been" and where we're "going". Since we are now in Jan. I am either standing ON it or right next to it on the "inside" of the circle. When I think of August, I turn around and look "down and to the left" to "see" it and it seems so far away spacially.

With days of the week, (gosh I am having so much fun actually describing this and knowing those reading it will "get it!") they go from right to left and slant slightly upward the farther out you go. So if I am standing "next to" Monday... then Tue will be to the left of that at a slightly raised incline and so on. They don't have boxes around them or anything... they are just... well.... I guess they do kind of have "shadow squares" around the names but the whole "line" floats in a greyish dark "space" and the line just keeps inclining slightly as it goes to the left way off into the distance. Mon-Fri are clumped together as one unit and Sat/Sun. are a separate unit. Messes me up when we get a 3 day weekend or something though!!

Now, decades, that's a whole nother thing. When I was about 5 or so, I remember "standing on" 1972 (I was born in 67) and seeing straight ahead of me up until about 1987 or so. As I got "closer" to 1987, I saw that the timeline "bent" to the left at around 1987-1989 but couldn't see past it. Once I "got there", I could see the line going to the left all the way to about 1999-2001. Funny thing is, up until 1989 or so, I was "standing on" the line. throughout all of the 90's I was "looking down and to the left" at the whole timeline. I could turn my head to the "right" and see "the past" and turn to the "left" and see the bend. Once we got to about 2001, I "descended" again and now "stand next to" each year. Ironically, I cannot really see more than 1 year ahead now, and sometimes I can barely see one MONTH ahead, it's like a big mist, like it's not "for sure" that there will BE another year or month.. very strange.

If I had to draw this on a piece of paper, it would start on the right, say in the 1800's.... the line would move to the left until about 1987-1989... then it bends "down" until about 1999-2001, then bends to the "left" again yet spacially in my mind, it is not 2D, it is 3D.

Anyway, I've rambled on enough... so glad to have found you guys!

I don't have a timeline as such, it's like some endless void although I have drawn a calendar for myself and it has all the months of the year in a huge circle, that can help sometimes.
My days of the week do have genders so they tend to group, it isn't too atypical though (apart from the fact that Monday is always the start of the week for me as oppose to Sunday):

Monday
(male)

Tuesday (Female, very bright like yellow but not entirely)
Wednesday(Female. Wednesday have always been my favourite because I think Wednesday is such a lovely word that and I've always associated Wednesday with orange  )
Thursday (Female- I despise Thursday because she's a very sour kind of female  )

Friday (male and bitter)

Saturday (male and white, my second favourite day)
Sunday (male and white too. I don't like Sundays as much as I do Saturdays but they're far better than Tuesdays and Thursdays!)

:bsmile: Oh I can do Polish days of the week! Cool! I've always been taught the days of the week starting from Monday in Polish, I don't know whether that's because they consider Monday the start of their week (in the Northern Hemisphere) or whether everyone just learns it the same way. It might be something related to the business week maybe.

poniediałek (meaning begining)- male too and quite ugly.
wtorek- male and my most unliked Polish day, it's very strange to say
środa (meaning middle!)- female too! :bsmile: but that must be by association because the actual word looks very male.
czwartek- female as well and this one feels more purple than 'Thursday' in English.
piątek- (from the number 'five')-male as well and this one is far more friendly than Friday! :bsmile: Kocham piątki! (I love Fridays!)
sobota-male though this one is more harsh than Saturday, far less friendly.
niedziela- male too (well there's huge difference! :P) although I hate this word, it always makes me cringe, it's very ugly word to write. I like french Sundays better. 'Dimanche' funnily enough they're male too although it has a darker colour to it than niedziela does.

OH! (as long as I am on a roll)

AGES/numbers! They have a visual too.

Ages 1- 12 are just like on a clock... then at 13, it starts to slightly curve to the left (13 creates the "bend") then 14-20 are in a straight line going right to left from 13. At 20, the line takes a 90 degree turn "up" until 30.. then it takes a 90 degree turn to the left again and then each group of 10 is one "unit" with the years 40, 50, 60 "bumping up" one space then continuing to the left until the next change. At age 70, the line gets "wavy" with 71-73 going "up in a curvy wave" then 74-76 going down and so on. Once you reach age 100, it "wavys"upward again at a diagonal and fades into the distance.

Kewel.. that was fun. I've never told anybody about the ages/number one before....

Jodie

I never thought of this before, but my days have genders too!

Monday is male and i don't like him
Tuesday is male, and I like him cause he's friendly
Wednesday is male, he's kinda a loner
Thursday is female, and she's yellow and unfriendly. she reminds me of the cat i used to have, but that's probably cause my cat's name was thursday lol
Friday is male and is navy and he is unfriendly. he's scratchy like denim.
Saturday is yellow, he's male and is fat.
Sunday is male and he's a loner too.

Wow, I never realized that my days have genders too!

Monday: It's what I refer to as 'headache yellow' and it's male and very vivacious, like he's in a fraternity or something (or is he a male cheerleader? O.o)
Tuesday: A semi-brightish blue, is female, and is very, VERY calm...
Wednesday: A Dark, dark green, is male and is haughty, like he's always frustrated, or angry, or snippy
Thursday: A funky barf-orange, and is all.....poingy. O.O I dunno how to describe it, like she's bouncy and chipper.
Friday: A dark, claming, stormy blue. Like the color of the night sky, or storm clouds when it's getting dark. And it's very serene, and relaxed(and male) ; it's also very polite and kind and likes hugs. : 3
Saturday: Female and warm mahogany. She's sleepy and all cozy, like she's by a fire or laying out in the sun

Sunday: This one's weird; it a boy, and it's black. And.......evil. He's ruthless and doesn't like to talk and isn't afraid to inflict bodily harm. O.O

Also, I'm happy that you're so happy, Jodie. : D

And hi, Ceru. ^^

OH MY GAWED!

I just realized something!!!! I have described my "decades" time line to you as well as my "age" time line.

I just realized that they BOTH have "dog leg" bends and they BEND at the same point in "TIME!"

IE, I was born in 1967... my decade line bends 90 degrees to the LEFT in 1987... which is when I was 20. My age line bends 90 degrees to the RIGHT at 20! And then my decade line bends AGAIN 10 years later... as does my age line! WOW!!! They are synched up!!

Never occured to me until today.

months and days of the week have colors to me:

Monday- red
Tuesday- bright green
Wednesday- bluish purple
Thursday- sea green
Friday- purple
Saturday- cream
Sunday- light golden

Jan- black with red sparkles...it's very pretty
Feb- pink
March- yellow-orange
April- light blue or lavender
May- orange
Jun- light purple
Jul- purple
Aug- deep purple
Sept- yellow
Oct- dark orange
Nov- red
Dec-frosty blue

Also, when I'm thinking of my schedule for a day, I think of it as a set of colored blocks in different sizes, for how long the activity is. so far the colors go white/grey, light red, light blue, light yellow. this is, at leat for week days...i haven't gotten past this since i never have more than 3 things after school.

j/w, I know all of these are syn and that the colors would be :concept:  :color: , but what would the last thing be?

also...it kind of bothers me that the colors of the months and days don't always match the colors that the actual words would be based on the colors of letters in the word. does this happen to anyone else?

:bsmile: That's very cool! Seems like Polish week is similar to Bulgarian!
Monday is spelled something like ponedelnik and means begining. To me Mondays are very very very male and light blue, almost white.
I'm sceptic about my synesthetic week, I think it's mostly logical or made up. Here are the other days:
Vtornik (this means second) - red and male, but this is normal, I know that Tuesday is the day of Mars, and Mars is red. I'm keen on astronomy and always think of Tuesdays as they're red. Bloody red.
Sryada (middle) is like gold.
Chetvurtuk is deep blue and male.
Petuk (from "five") is purple to me. And maybe I have an emotional reason for this, because I love Fridays and when I'm elated I see purple :eyeroll: I'm not sure whether Fridays are purple, because I like them, or I like Fridays, because they're purple :eyeroll:
Subota (Satureday) is female and very black to me, and this is normal (Black Sabbath)
Nedelya (means "don't work" :bsmile: ) is yellow, something ordinary - it's the day of the sun.

Hey that's awesome! I thought the Poles was very idiosyncratic in the way they chose their days of the weeks and their months because they don't seem to fit the usual European conventions with a little word 'day' at the end, quite like the Germans with 'tag'.
Ohh, now I might know what niedziela (Sunday) means, the 'nie' part of niedziela is the Polish word for 'no'. Hey, I like the connections between languages! I might just go and look it up now! Thanks! :bsmile:

Blagodarya<-- not too sure whether that's Bulgarian, I tried!

You're welcome
Yes, it is Bulgarian. The only thing is we use Cyrillic, like not many of the other nations. That's why I thought it's better to spell Bulgarian weekdays using the English alphabet.
I like the connections between languages too. It always amazes me! I guess there's a lot of similarity between different languages, especially phonetic.

My days of the week go round in a circle as do the months of the year.
My numbers are strange, you enter a different room for each ten, although I loose it after about 50 probably beacuse I don't use those numbers so much.

Wow, that's pretty neat! Can you describe what these rooms are like for you (how they look like/feel)?

Like Japanime Lover I associate emotions with days and months. Is that Syn or is that me being like everybody else. One of my biggest issues with my syn is wondering what is normal and what is not. I see days and months in color which I am pretty sure is syn. Does anybody have input on the emotional or personality association?

JANUARY IS BLUE AND NERVOUS
FEBRUARY IS PINK AND KIND OF A WALLFLOWER
MARCH IS YELLOW AND ATTENTION DEPRIVED
APRIL IS GREEN AND HYPER
MAY IS RED AND FRUSTRATED
JUNE IS LIGHT BLUE (BUT DARKER THAN JANUARY) AND IS INDIFFERENT...

DOES THAT MAKE SENSE?

MONDAY IS ORANGE AND MESSY
TUESDAY IS BLUE AND HARD

AGAIN, I KNOW IT IS WEIRD
