As a younger person, I saw visions while listening to music. Colors made me feel stronge emotions.

I'm looking for exercises or disciplines to enhance the effects.

Do you have any references?

Well, that I know of, there is no way to enhance synesthetic responses. But one thing you may enjoy doing every so often is to shut yourself away from other sounds and sightsto focus simply on one sound/sight in the dark. Paying more attention to your synesthesia may help it seem stronger.

I agree, just turn out the lights - sit in a comfortable chair or lie down or whatever. Put on the music that you are wanting to experience and just let yourself go. I've often found that listening to music just as I'm drifting off to sleep produces the wildest stuff, hah.

I'm not sure if you can enhance the effects, but it may be possible to become more attuned to what you do have. What I mean is, learn to understand it. Try to understand what factors cause certain reactions...for instance, how they move, how their colors are (if you have colors), what determines the visual textures, what determines location and so on. Understanding your reactions may help you to harness whatever you do have and make it more meaningful to you, I think, even if it doesn't change the intensity at all.

I think it is possible. Before I found out about synesthesia, I thought most people were just ignoring much of what was going on in the world & cut off from their senses. I did lots of excercises to improve my senses, mostly hearing.

I was able to develop the capacity for picking sounds out of sonic fabric, such as white noise in the city (especially at night, when it is easy to do). It is possible to hear things over miles. People with sensory impairments do this all the time. I learned my techniques from a blind man who had learned to orient himself sonically.

As your senses become more acute, so does the synesthesia. Also, the more you pay attention, the more you are able to distinguish those moments when something is triggered.
