As I sat in church today listening to our preacher, a sound began that sounded like it could be an alarm of some sort. I can't really describe the sound - it could have been some type of car alarm, but it wasn't like ones I usually hear. It didn't sound like it was coming from inside the church, and it only lasted for twenty seconds, maybe. I would have forgotten all about it except I noticed how empty the room suddenly felt without the momentary sound. It had added a color of about brick in a pattern of rectangles like bricks (some lighter and more faded than others). After the sound disappeared, I found myself sort of missing it because now the room felt empty. I also realized I had been thinking "what is that (red) sound?" (I put red in parenthesis because I thought more about the sound and its color was secondary to me.)

It's exciting for me because I find myself noticing these things more often now. I doubt I'll ever hear the sound again so I can verify it, but I still feel very sure about it, like ... because I'm noticing other sounds (which I can verify later, such as hearing drums every weekend at church) I am noticing other sounds like this alarm. I feel like what sound-syn I might have is now become more noticeable and, I guess you could say real. I am starting to think that I actually have it and less that I am just hoping for it and imagining it. Yay!

You'll have to let us know if you have any other exciting responses!

Thanks!

Actually, I noticed another one today. My dad had started the van and then closed his door, but it didn't close all the way. So the buzzing sound that lets you know the driver's door is open kept on buzzing. And it sounded like lots of little rusty-red specks! When the sound stopped, the specks disappeared, and immediately the whole van felt much ... emptier.

Yay again! My mom and I were driving our van this morning to go clean an apartment, and she leaned forward like she was listening for something. Our cars tend to have a lot of issues one right after the other, and the van had been having issues a few weeks ago, so I didn't think anything of it. Anyway, I sat quietly and listened as well, wondering what she could be hearing. After I asked her and she answered, I said, "Oh, that high-pitched sound". I had to keep myself from saying "those white little squares". And I know that was syn because (1) I've never heard them before and (2) they disappeared when the sound did. I'm on a roll!
